A brief summary of the characters in Kingdom Hearts. WARNING!!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!

Sora Sora is a 14 year old boy who lived on Destiny Island with his best friends Riku and Kairi and his other friends Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie. Sora's trio talked about escaping to a different world and leaving their boring island. They had even built a raft to get out. But, one night, The Heartless came to Destiny Island and abducted Riku and Kairi. Before long, Sora was sucked into a big black hole that appeared in the sky and woke up in a new place called Traverse Town. When his island was being destroyed he got a weapon called the Keyblade. With it, he soon learned by some people he met named Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith, he had to go to other worlds and seal their keyholes to save them. Soon, Donald Duck and Goofy came to adventure along with him. Going into a completely different topic, in the game, it shows scenes of him thinking about Kairi and wishing he could share a fruit with her called the Paopu Fruit. Any two people who share this fruit are destined to be together so, obviously from the beginning, you know he has a crush on Kairi. But in the end, he can't be with her.	Kairi Kairi is a 14 year old girl who lives on Desiny Island with Sora, Riku, Tidus, Wakka and Selphie. She gets abducted by the Heartless when they invade her island and they steal her heart. Without it, she is like a lifeless doll. In fact, she is like that for most of the game. When Sora seals Kingdom Hearts, Destiny Island is resurrected and Kairi is there, alone. She secretly, the whole time, had a crush on Sora as he did her. In the end she shows she wanted to share the paopu fruit with him and starts to cry because he couldn't go with her to Destiny Island when it was being brought back. Since I hated her the whole game, I was shocked because when she started to cry, I did too!
Riku Riku is a 15 year old boy who lives on Destiny Island too. When The Heartless came, he let them take his body and was sworn into darkness from that moment forward. He then worked for Maleficent, the mistress of evil, but soon took control over her. This is because the creator of The Heartless, Ansem, took over Riku's body to once angain rule. Though it doesn't seem like it, if you have played the game, he plans out her death so he can control The Heartless him self. When he finally realizes what has happened, Riku trys to stop Ansem from doing any bad to Sora or anyone else but, his efforts don't work very well. In the end, he makes Sora, Donald, and Goofy seal him away in Kingdom Hearts with King Mickey.	Donald Duck Donald Duck is loyal warrior for King Mickey. He was sent with Goofy to find "The Key" and use it to stop the destruction of the worlds caused by The Heartless. Sora, Goofy, and Donald travel to different worlds together, sealing them of their darkness until they reach Hollow Bastion. Then, Riku takes they Keyblade from Sora and Donald and Goofy are forced to go with Riku, obeying their king's orders strongly. When Sora gives a long speech about the power of friendship and how he doesn't need a weapon to defeat Riku, Donald and Goofy switch sides and battle Riku together. In the end, the defeat Ansem, and seal Kingdom Hearts together.
Goofy Goofy is King Mickey's second servent and is team mates with Donald and Sora. Goofy is, dare I say, "The Stupid One" who always has to have theings explained twice to him or just says stupid things. But, on rare occasions, he comes up with really good ides for defeating bosses and minions of Ansem. He sometimes directs Donald in the right direcion and says friendship comes before anything. He chooses friendship over his king's orders in the end and helps Sora and Donald seal Kingdom Hearts.	Ansem Ansem is the creator of The Heartless. He studied darkness for a long time and kept his findings about it in a report called Ansem's Report. It was divided into 10 sections. He then actually, discovered The Heartless and unleashed their power among the worlds. The Heartless' power was too much for Ansem to control and it took him over. Since he was a powerful being himself, he was able to live along without a body, until he found Riku. He saw that Riku was physically stable even though The Heartless control a part of him. So he took over Riku's body. When he was in Riku's body for long enough, he was able to be born as his orginal self again. Then, he disposed of Riku's body but, since it was strong, it was able to live without a heart for a while until, Riku was able to enhabitat it agian. Ansem then, again, tried to take control over The Heartless but, history repeated itself and darkness took over his body, and with the help of Sora, Donald and Goofy, this time killing him.
Leon Leon was torn away from his world with Yuffie, and Aerith and ended up in Traverse Town, much like Sora. He weilds a blade called the Gunblade and it helps him track Sora down. When he meets Sora, he tells him about his mission and the fate of the worlds if he doesn't complete it. He seems moody and often grouchy at times but, under his nasty exterior is a kind hearted person. He's a softy for people in trouble and HATES when people call him Squall. Especially Yuffie. Though you really don't see much of them in the game, some people tell me that Yuffie and Leon have feelings for each other and I don't deny it one bit.
	Yuffie Yuffie is a girl taken away from her home, Hollow Bastion, with Leon and Aerith who practices in the art of ninjas. She throws ninja blades and stuff and when you battle her, it's really annoying... Anyways, she helps Leon find Sora to explain to him his mission as the Keyblade weilder. She is very spunky and energetic and is supposedly having something with Leon.... who knows... nasty rumor but very believable.
Aerith Aerith was taken away from Hollow Bastion with Leon and Yuffie and brought to Traverse Town. She finds Donald and Goofy and tells them about Ansem and his reports. She is a very minor character as are Leon and Yuffie but helps you a lot in the beginning by giving you 100 munny and advice about where to go next. She is very kind and nice and would seem like the perfect person to go for help. Her sweet interior may not seem like much to rely on but, she does actually give you good advice in the game.	Cloud Cloud is another minor character that you meet in Olympus Coliseum. You learn from the beginning that he has been searching for someone since the seperation of the worlds and has made an aliance with Hades to find this person. He makes a mistake by doing this and almost dies but, of coarse Sora and the others save him with the help of Hercules. Since Sora saved him, he gives Sora the ability Sonic Blade and leaves. You never see him again until the end, if you watch the end credits long enough. You see him entering the Library in Hollow Bastion with his head down. Suddenly, Aerith comes up to him and looks at him as to say: "Is it really you?!" From that scene I think it's safe to say that the person he was looking for is her and that he too came for Hollow Bastion.
The Heartless From all you've read so far The Heartless are self explanitory but, I'll give you a description anyways. The Heartless are creatures that Ansem discovered in the deepest depths of darkness. He realeased them and let the destroy all of the worlds. Since they were so strong they destroyed him too but, of coarse he came back. They come in all different shapes, sizes, types and colors. The one in the picture is the weakest of all The Heartless. These are the first one's Sora discovers.
