Ok, there's been a lot of rumors about the new Kingdom Hearts coming out. Is it a continuation of the old one? Is there a whole new plot? Are the characters the same or different? I'm going to try to clear up all those rumors for you and tell you what's really going on.

Basic Information
Well, let's give you the basics. Sora is still the main character (Sora fan club cheers) and Donald and Goofy still travel with him (Disney-Haters club boo's). The game will take place one year after Kingdom Hearts and many things that didn't seem that important in the first game will became a major part of the second. Like Mickey, for example. He will be shown more times and have a bigger role in this game. Japan's expected release date for Kingdom Hearts 2 is late 2004 so, we figure, it will come over to America in mid-2005. Let me specify that that is only a assumption and it's not for sure. Some things that have changed would be the Gummi Ship style, The Heartless and some of your enemies. The regular battle control will be the same but, expect differences within it. |

The Characters
The Characters will be altered quite a bit. Your favorites like Sora, Riku, Kairi and such will still be there so, don't worry. Some new people will appear also and, I'm not allowed to give information away but, expect someone from the first game to appear again. There is also a new group of people which, mostly the game is focused on called The Unknowns. Most of them wear hoods and are VERY secretive until the end but, some you may be able to guess by the way they talk or the way they perform some of their actions. There is also a couple of unknown characters. They are not part of The Unknowns but, you don't figure out who they are until the end. For example, there is a red haired girl who resembles Kairi and some even believe she is Kairi but, as I said before, her information is unknown. |

Deep Dive
Deep Dive, in case you don't know, is a video only found in Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix. It is, some say, a continuation of Kingdom Hearts 2 but, however, we don't know for sure. We do though know that it takes place after Kingdom Hearts 2. It has some of the same characters and some new ones. As seen in the picture above, this is another unknown character. Some will argue to their death that this picture is of Riku but, no one knows for sure. Deep Dive basically is a whole other story. It starts off as random blurry words dashing across the screen. One you can make out is 'Where's Sora?'. Then you see a teenage boy (looking to be at least 17), walking in the rain with a black trenchcoat on. Then, all around him, appear huge Heartless. He quickly takes out a Keyblade and starts to destroy them. Then, from that point forward, you start seeing flash images of the unknown character above. He is standing on the top of the building that the boy is fighting near, in the rain. He is also wearing a black trenchcoat. The teenage boy realizes that The Heartless out number him so, he decides to retreat. He runs up the building that the unknown character is on, destroying Heartless as he goes. Then, the unknown character takes of his blindfold, but of coarse, you don't see his face because, the camera switches it's angle. He then jumps up when he reaches the top and the scene cuts off. You are then brought to another scene and another setting where the uknown character is sitting, alone, on a rock near a black ocean. Then, the teenager amerges from the darkness and walks up to him. You see the unknown character smile and say "You look just like him". It then takes you back to the flashing words screen for a short while but, then you see a picture of Sora flying across a stormy ocean with his eyes closed. The last scene shown then begins. It shows a shooting star of some sort falling from the sky in the beautiful day time on Destiny Island. Then, a grown up, more developed Kairi runs out to gaze at the sight. It then ends. The Plot
Even though the game is mostly complete in Japan, all the details about the game hasn't been released yet. The only thing that is certain is that the plot has to do with most of the original game ideas. The internet has had some plot rumors going around about Kingdom Hearts 2 and with the help of some other websites, I've narrowed it down to a few.One: Most of the game will be focused on Riku and King Mickey's quest to help Sora with what lies ahead in The Heartless world and will explain in detail everything the first game didn't. Two: Problems arise when The Heartless return to the worlds, raving havoc because Sora sealed Kingdom Hearts incorrectly. History basically repeats itself as civiliations question where their savior went. Where is Sora? He is in darkness, questioning his existance. He doesn't know where he is or his friends. But, for the sake of the worlds, he must make a decision regarding the diaster. Three: The third plot assumption regards Kairi. She is on the island with the others but, awaiting the return of her other friends.... Riku.... and most impotantly, Sora.... Afraid she will be a nusience to him if he ever does return, she trains everyday with everyone else. Everyday Sora's voice inside her head carries her on, giving her hope that some day he will return. But, once she loses that sense of his voice, she sets out to find him, afraid he didn't make it through darkness. Four: The fourth takes place where Kingdom Hearts left off. Sora, Goofy and Donald are chashing Pluto down a winding path until they finally catch him. Pluto has another messege from the King but, it's not a pleasant one. No one knows what the King said, just that it was horrible and Sora, Goofy and Donald must set out on another mission but, this time, someone is watching them.... |
